The time has come!

Our first prototype has been requested.

This week we have been assembling and creating a prototype of our game. This is going to allow the rest of the class to test out what we have so far and give us feedback. The feedback will help us to know three things:

1. If they like the game and how it works
2. If there are any bugs in the game that need to be fixed
3. If there is anything we need to change or add.

So...for my part of this process I have been finalising the prototype menus and all the assets needed.

First off there is the main menu page:

I made the Manta Ray with a long tail as I wanted it to look like it was (cue sound effect) 'whooshing" in. Hence, I added bubbles behind it to add to the effect of speed.

I drew a naval mine as the settings cog icon. I thought it was a unique element that will follow our theme.

Second there's the Level Select Menu:

The Level Select Menu will look like the image above. See...I told you it would look better! I have also added in more assets, for example: seaweed, rocks and more corals.
This page has an odd ratio as it is a side scrolling page, so it has the height of a standard android phone, however, the width is the size of 3.5 android phones.

The levels page will give an indication of how the story is going to progress and how the levels are going to get harder. As you can see the levels go from just swimming in the ocean, to encountering pollution, to dodging traps and naval mines all the way to escaping from an oil spill.

Here is a link to see a gameplay video of our prototype: https://youtu.be/G-DxHAa1-CY
Enjoy!!

Until next time!
