A little about me.
I am currently looking for a job in 3D Character Animation.
Throughout my undergraduate degree I have come to love working in 3D space. Since as long as I could remember, I have been in love with animation and amazed at how people can bring these characters to life. I got to explore in more depth the techniques and aspects behind 3D animation in my Computer Animation MA.
Having the opportunity to learn the behind the scenes, how to design and create characters, as well as animate them is a journey that I am very grateful and excited to be on.
I look forward to continuing to learn more about the industry pipeline and developing my skills as a 3D Animator.
I have worked in programs such as Autodesk Maya, Nuke, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro and worked a little in Blender.
My Story
Growing up in South Africa, becoming apart of the film industry was never an option. There weren't any subject choices to guide me in that direction. It was only when I moved to the UK that it became a possibility. I am very thankful to have been given the opportunities that I have.
I went into my degree coming from an art background. It has been quite a journey integrating into a digital workplace as I was used to creating drawings and artworks with pencil and paper. The transition has had its difficulties but I can't deny that I have enjoyed the journey and am loving the new range of possibilities available in the digital world.
I fun fact about me is I tend to live life by film quotes. There is usually always a reference available in conversations and it makes it even more special when you share them with fellow film lovers, they have a tendency to stick with you :)
One of my biggest admirations is seeing the transformation of when Animators breathe life into characters. The comfort and connection some of the animated characters are able establish with the audience, along with the storyline and many other elements, never ceases to amaze me. It is a factor that has pushed me to know more and to learn how to do the same. As I aspire to be apart of something that is able to reach people and give them hope and joy.
